In 2000, every Swiss citizen received around 400 letters per year. If the trend of recent years continues, this figure could fall to around 100 per person by 2030, representing a 75% decline. While this development poses a real challenge for the Swiss postal service, it also has some positive aspects: digital communication is cheaper and more environmentally friendly.
