Swiss industrial companies currently pay on average 2.3 times more for their electricity than their competitors in France. This striking difference is due, among other things, to government support: the energy company EDF must sell a large proportion of its nuclear power at a heavily discounted rate – an advantage for French industry that, however, weighs on taxpayers.
