At Avenir Suisse, you work on the questions shaping Switzerland – and see how they become part of public debate. You take onresponsibility early, contribute your ideas, and engage with people who make decisions in politics and business. And you do so as part of a team of around 30 professionals in Zurich and Lausanne.
Whether during your studies, after graduation, or with several years of professional experience, there are different ways to join us – and to return to us: Knowledge and experience should circulate beyond institutional boundaries. Many of us later move into positions of responsibility in business, government, associations, or international organizations; some return with experience that makes our work stronger.
Your career opportunities in research
You gain your first professional experience at Avenir Suisse while still studying. As a Research & Team Assistant, you support our research and operations teams and gain direct insight into the work of a think tank.
You have completed at least two semesters, have an above-average academic record as well as strong analytical and communication skills, and would like to work with us for at least one year. The 30- to 50-percent workload can be combined flexibly with your studies.
You work on analyses and reform proposals and gradually build your expertise. As your experience grows, you take on more responsibility; strong performance can lead to promotion to Researcher and Senior Researcher.
You need a master's degree, strong analytical skills, and an interest in economic and social policy questions.
At the fellow level, you take responsibility for thematic portfolios. You lead research projects, develop publications, and represent Avenir Suisse externally.
Depending on your experience and profile, you join as an Associate Fellow, Fellow, or Senior Fellow. A doctorate and/or several years of professional experience is required.
