Master’s degree in international economic history (2011); UBS Wealth Management Diploma (2007); Mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich, including a PhD with a dissertation on the safety of nuclear power plants (1999); Postgraduate diploma in risk and safety from ETH/EPFL and the University of St Gallen (1998).

Professional experience:

Management role at UBS (2005–09), lastly as private banking officer for Biel-Seeland; Strategy consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, primarily on the topic of insurance (2000–05).

His areas of focus so far at Avenir Suisse have been the need to reform the pension system, and funding social security.
