The Figure

Since 2010, the total fertility rate in Switzerland has been around 1.5 children per woman. In 2022, it suddenly dropped to 1.39, then to 1.28 in 2024. This may not seem like much, but it is a significant drop in a very short period of time. While concerns about Switzerland having a population of 10 million are now omnipresent, they could soon give way to demographic worries of a completely different order.
